Atari D2 Punk Synth
This was a Star Wars R2D2 bubble bath container which has been sitting on top of one of my studio monitors for a few years, begging to have some electronics installed. I have a box of half built circuits, mistakes and left overs from various workshops I’ve taught, which are good fodder for quick projects.
So here we have the Atari D2 Punk Synth, it contains the classic stepped tone generator (Atari Punk Console) by Forrest M. Mimms III and a 4017 sequencer (5 steps). Seemed an appropriate bleepy combination to install in the diminutive droid with the added bonus of flashing LEDs to animate his domed cranium.
